REPAIRING CAVITIES

Fillings

When Dr. Porter notices a sticky spot of decay on a tooth, she cleans the sticky spot off and in some cases patches the spot with a filling.

Crowns

Broken or decayed teeth can be restored using a number of tooth colored materials. These restorations or crowns are bonded to the tooth and can actually increase the strength of the damaged tooth. Crowns no longer have to be silver or gold but can be restored to their natural beauty.

Root Canal Treatment

Deep tooth decay, or an injury, can cause serious damage and infection to the tooth pulp's nerves and vessels. A root canal, also called endodontic treatment, cleans out the infected pulp chamber. This procedure kills the sensitivity and unfortunately eliminates the blood supply to the tooth. Without blood supply, the tooth becomes brown and brittle. A crown is fit around the tooth to ensure tooth stability.
